Usage Policy

This Usage Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing the acceptable use of Heidi developed by and is operated by Heidi Health Trading Pty Limited (ABN 84 649 783 871) (Heidi Health, we, us, our) and our affiliates. Heidi is designed to provide support in the delivery of health services, including clinical workflow management, access to medical information about patients, access to peer-reviewed clinical studies, and clinical-practice guidelines.

Additionally, it serves as a tool for assisting in the delivery of telehealth services through telephone, video, and chat functionality. It also integrates AI functionality to support administrative and clinical decision-making processes.

1. Purpose

Our mission is to pioneer the development of artificial intelligence that enhances the cognitive abilities of a seasoned medical practitioner. We are committed to redefining the healthcare landscape by introducing innovative solutions that seamlessly integrate with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management Systems (PMS). Our groundbreaking approach empowers medical practitioners to significantly elevate their productivity through AI-driven task automation.

At its core, Heidi is dedicated to providing medical practitioners with indispensable AI tools that become invaluable partners in their day-to-day tasks. Through these tools, clinicians gain access to a new era of efficiency and precision in healthcare, enhancing patient care and streamlining healthcare operations.

2. AI functionality

The AI functionality within Heidi is designed to assist medical practitioners in administrative and clinical decision-making processes. While the AI can provide insights and recommendations based on available data, it is imperative to understand that the final responsibility for all professional and medical decisions related to patient diagnosis, advice, treatment or the quality or accuracy of medical notes rests solely with the medical practitioner.

3. Limitations

3.1 No replacement for Professional Medical Advice

Heidi and its outputs should not be construed as professional medical or healthcare advice, a definitive diagnosis, or a recommendation for treatment. It is not intended to directly assess, maintain, or improve the physical, mental, or emotional health of a patient.

3.2 Medical Device

Heidi  is not classified as a medical device under the regulations of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia or any equivalent regulatory bodies in the United Kingdom, United States or Canada. It is designed solely for administrative assistance, facilitating accurate and efficient documentation of patient encounters by clinicians. Heidi does not diagnose, treat, mitigate, or alleviate any illnesses, diseases, or medical conditions. All clinical decisions, including diagnoses and treatments, are the sole responsibility of the clinician.

Heidi does not interact directly with patients nor does it collect, monitor, or analyze physiological data. Its functionality is limited to handling textual data provided by clinicians for documentation and administrative purposes.

3.3 Prohibited Uses

Users shall not intentionally input fake, misleading, or deceptive data or prompts into Heidi, nor should they attempt to request or manipulate Heidi into generating or outputting a clinical diagnosis, treatment, or any other type of medical or health-related information outlined in 3.1. This includes direct prompting of Heidi for differential diagnoses or other diagnostic outcomes. Any such misuse of Heidi is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of access. Heidi is designed to assist with genuine consultation setting interactions, and any abuse of this nature undermines the integrity and reliability of the service..

4. Translation feature

The Translation Feature ("Translation") within Heidi enables healthcare providers to conduct medical appointments in one language and generate summary notes in another language. By using the Translation, users agree to the terms outlined in this Usage Policy.

4.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

Translation is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Heidi disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Users acknowledge that Translation may not be free from errors or inaccuracies and is not intended to provide medical advice.

4.2 Review and Verification by Users

Users are responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of the translated content generated by the translation. Heidi Health emphasizes the importance of thorough review to ensure the clinical relevance and accuracy of the translation outputs. Healthcare providers are urged to exercise their professional judgment in reviewing the translations before relying on them for clinical decision-making or patient care.

4.3 Language Fluency Requirement

Translation is intended for use by healthcare providers who are fluent in both the input and output languages of the translation. Users must ensure they possess adequate language skills to assess the accuracy of the translations and to identify any potential errors or misinterpretations.

4.4 Feedback and Improvements

Participation in the beta testing phase requires active feedback from users regarding their experience with Translation, including reporting inaccuracies and suggesting improvements. Heidi Health is committed to enhancing Translation based on user feedback and may adjust the technology accordingly.

Translation is currently in a beta testing stage. Users are encouraged to provide feedback on the accuracy and functionality of the translations to help Heidi improve the Translation feature. Feedback can be submitted through intercom or hello@heidihealth.com.au.

5. Reliability

Medical practitioners using Heidi must exercise caution and critical judgment when interpreting its outputs. While Heidi can provide valuable insights, it should not be relied upon as a sole source of professional medical advice. Medical practitioners should always ensure that any recommendations or information obtained from Heidi are thoroughly reviewed, corroborated with additional sources, and integrated into their overall decision-making process. The ultimate responsibility for patient care and decisions lies with the medical practitioner.

6. Compliance with regulations

Heidi has been developed to comply with majority of international regulations including HIPAA and GDPR. Users outside of Australia, US, UK, EU or Canada are responsible for ensuring that their use of Heidi complies with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws and regulations governing the use of Heidi within their jurisdiction.

7. Data privacy and security

Medical practitioners using Heidi must adhere to all data privacy and security protocols established by Heidi to protect patient information and maintain the confidentiality of healthcare data as outlined within.

8. Reporting issues

Any concerns or issues related to Heidi’s performance, functionality, or adherence to this usage policy should be reported promptly to Heidi for investigation and resolution.

9. General

Heidi reserves the right to amend or modify this Usage Policy at any time. Users will be notified of any changes, and it is the responsibility of the medical practitioners to review and adhere to the updated policy.

By using Heidi, medical practitioners acknowledge that they have read and understood this Usage Policy and our Practitioner Terms of Use and agree to abide by the terms and conditions of both documents. Failure to comply with this policy may result in the suspension or termination of access to Heidi.
